T. Rowe Price’s 2017 Parents, Kids & Money Survey, which sampled parents of 8 to 14 year olds nationally and their kids, looked at households with kids of only one gender and found that parents who have all boys are going to greater lengths to support their kids’ college education than parents of all girls.

Every year, PayPal hosts a four-week long coding camp across five campuses in the U.S. that is open to kids of PayPal employees, introducing them to coding in fun and creative ways. This year, with nearly 90 employee volunteers and 190 kid participants across San Jose, Omaha, Scottsdale, Austin and Timonium, it resulted in our most successful program yet.

Maverick students will be able to cruise to classes when The University of Texas at Arlington’s Institute for Sustainability and Global Impact launches a new bike-sharing program Wednesday, Sept. 6. The program strengthens the University’s commitment to sustainability and enabling the modern megacity.

“The single biggest indicator for academic success is having books at home,” said Fatima Yousef, the 16-year-old founder of the nonprofit Stories for a Future. While it’s a statistic she knows by heart, she also knows that having books may not be a reality for many low-income youth.

Today, HP Inc. (NYSE:HPQ) announced the new HP School Cloud featuring the HP Open Learning Platform during Global Citizen Week. HP School Cloud will provide access to educational materials and apps to students, teachers and adult learners in rural and poor communities around the world.

The LA Galaxy and the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA), a non-profit organization that works with the private sector to make healthier choices easier for busy parents and families, and an official partner of the club, are teaming up for a second year. CITGO Corpus Christi is supporting Ready or Not Foundation’s efforts in pediatric cancer research by sponsoring this year’s Best Dressed Luncheon on Sept. 21 at the Solomon P. Ortiz International Center. Childhood brain tumors are the leading cause of death in pediatric cancer patients under the age of 19, and the Ready or Not Foundation aims to increase awareness and raise funds for vital research.

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), HP and the HP Foundation have renewed their partnership to further foster entrepreneurship and employment opportunities for young men and women in developing countries through technology-related learning.

Countless studies have shown that individuals with a college degree will do much better financially over the course of their careers than those without. That’s good news for those who graduate college, especially as the degree will be required for the bulk of new jobs the U.S. economy will create in the coming years.
