SC Johnson today announced the donation of $100,000 to the Red Cross to help relief efforts following the earthquakes and aftershocks that devastated parts of Mexico.

Points of Light will award five Daily Point of Light Awards to volunteers who performed outstanding work in their communities following the devastation of recent hurricanes. The volunteers will be recognized on Oct. 21 during the “Deep From the Heart: The One America Appeal” concert benefitting communities hit by recent natural disasters. The volunteers will be recognized on stage with the five living former U.S. presidents, including Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter.

And so is the goodwill from Bacardi employees around the world, who have joined together to support their colleagues affected by the hurricane.

After Hurricane Harvey hit Texas, Leah Halbina reached out to friends in the Houston area to see how she could help. When she found out about Sketch City, an open, nonprofit community of technology advocates and civic hackers that used technology to organize rescue efforts, help victims locate their nearest shelter and satisfy other pressing needs, she jumped in to help. The Arbor Day Foundation unveiled a brand-new hurricane tree recovery campaign today to get millions of trees back in the ground in the wake of hurricane devastation in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico. The initiative — which will engage and mobilize public and private partners — aims to plant and distribute 5 million trees over the next five years. The Arbor Day Foundation is already engaging with city and state leaders to ensure long-term recovery across the affected regions.

Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) announced today that it is making an additional $850,000 available for relief efforts related to wildfires in California. Additionally, through October 23, customers who wish to support the American Red Cross’ California wildfire relief efforts may do so by using any Wells Fargo ATM in California and selecting the option to donate. There is no fee for this service and 100% of contributions will be sent to the American Red Cross.
