PANDORA Turns Pink for a Good Cause

Across the world, October is recognised as Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) month. As a brand with a big heart and a history of supporting women through charitable causes, PANDORA is donating to the cause in various markets to raise awareness for a disease that affects millions of women worldwide. Some of the markets that are supporting local charitable initiatives are, among others, the US, Brazil, Spain and Hong Kong.

Dell Inc. Expects to Donate Over $14 Million Globally in STEM Education for Underserved Children This Year

As a part of ongoing efforts to invest in a more diverse technology workforce, Dell Inc. expects to contribute $14 million in grants and technology donations to support future generations of STEM workers, in current fiscal year which ends Feb. 3, 2018. Current donations made across Dell’s 71 youth learning partners globally are expected to bring technology education to more than 1.5 million underserved youth. With the expected contributions, a total of 4 million children will be impacted through Dell’s strategic giving programs, since 2014.

WFXT Boston 25 Announces Robert Cuddi as Boston’s 2017 Cox Conserves Hero

WFXT Boston 25, in partnership with The Trust for Public Land today named Robert Cuddi as Boston’s 2017 Cox Conserves Hero. New England Aquarium, Cuddi’s nonprofit beneficiary, will receive $10,000. Cuddi was among the three finalists who were nominated by the public then chosen by local judging panels to compete in an online vote.

Englewood Square Celebrates 1st Year: 'We Are Growing Something Good'

Whole Foods and Englewood Square marked its first anniversary in Englewood Monday with a big celebration featuring the mayor, aldermen and local entrepreneurs.

“It’s a good day for me,” said Ald. Toni Foulkes (16th). “I’ve been walking these streets since I was seven.”

“I know that JoAnn is watching,” Foulkes said about the late Ald. JoAnn Thompson (16th), who had the vision for Englewood Square.

In Keney Park, a 'Mobile Kitchen' Prepares to Roll Into Food Deserts

Herb Virgo’s vision arrived on four wheels, painted a yellow as bright as the future he hopes it’ll bring to the North End.

A decommissioned school bus, a relic from the Springfield school district, sits behind the greenhouse operated by the Keney Park Sustainability Project, which Virgo directs. By Thanksgiving, the bus’ transformation will be complete, creating a mobile teaching kitchen, a roving oasis to bring relief to the food deserts of Hartford’s poorest neighborhoods.
