Comerica Bank Ranked Among Top Corporate Supporters of American Heart Association Detroit Heart Walk by Raising over $38,000

Comerica Bank finished among the Top 4 companies supporting the American Heart Association’s 2019 Metro Detroit Heart and Stroke Walk/Run by contributing over $38,000 to help raise funding for break-through research. Additionally, Team Comerica captured the best overall honors in the Top Team category with a donation of $15,000.

The Scotiabank Calgary Marathon Celebrates its 55th Anniversary

The 55th edition of the Scotiabank Calgary Marathon takes place this weekend with participants raising money for 78 local charities, as part of the Scotiabank Charity Challenge. Canada's longest running marathon, The Scotiabank Calgary Marathon, features the: 50km Ultra, Scotiabank Calgary Marathon, Centaur Subaru 21.1km, Jugo Juice 10km, GoodLife Fitness 5km Walk & Run and the Scotiabank Kids Marathon, for those 12 years of age and under. The race weekend will welcome 10,000 participants across all distances.

Flint Hills Resources’ Support for Ducks Unlimited Surpasses $1M Contributed, 250,000 Acres Conserved

After more than 30 years of collaboration, Flint Hills Resources was recently recognized for reaching a significant milestone in its relationship with nonprofit Ducks Unlimited, surpassing $1 million in contributions to support habitat conservation initiatives for waterfowl and other wildlife. A significant amount of support has gone toward helping the Living Lakes Initiative in Minnesota and Iowa to enhance and preserve more than 1,900 acres of shallow lakes habitat, 800 acres of wetland and upland habitat, and acquire and restore an additional 700 acres of land for public use.

Merck Foundation Announces Grant to American Cancer Society to Improve Access to Cancer Care in Resource-Limited Settings

The Merck Foundation (the Foundation) and the American Cancer Society (ACS) recently announced that the Foundation awarded a $1.99 million, five-year grant to ACS to improve support and access to care for people living with cancer in low-and-middle-income countries, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. This funding will help ACS further develop its capacity development approach to expanding patient navigation to countries with a growing burden of cancer.
