How Annie’s Is Working Differently in Montana

A new sort of farmers market just arrived in the northern plains of Montana, and Annie’s is proud to be part of it. For the last eighteen months, we’ve been working with organic grain farmers, Casey Bailey and Nate Powell-Palm, to create limited edition Annie’s items – Honey Bunny Grahams and Elbow Pasta & Cheddar – made from organic crops grown on their farms.

Portrait of a Start-up Farmer

Zach Knutson is as much economist as he is farmer. He’s had to be. Unlike many farmers, Knutson didn’t inherit land. Instead, he’s earned and invested his way into the industry, relying on his entrepreneurial savvy and passion for growing plants and crops.

EPIC’s ROAM Ranch: A Photo Journey

Perched on the hunting seat of a bright blue Kawasaki Mule, my tour through ROAM Ranch feels like a safari.

The 450-acre ranch outside of Austin, Texas, is the brainchild of Taylor Collins and Katie Forrest, the founders of EPIC Provisions, and it is the embodiment of their brand’s mission.

Three Ways We’re Making Our Food Matter

Three focus areas are amplifying the legacies given to us by the founders of several of our brands. Katie Forrest and Taylor Collins (co-founders of EPIC), Lara Merriken (founder of LÄRABAR), Annie Withey (founder of Annie’s) and Gene Kahn (founder of Cascadian Farm and Small Planet Foods) had different paths, personalities and philosophies. However, they all shared a conviction – to be a rumble that shook the food system.

Earth Day Essity Style

Essity Employees from all around the country participated in Earth Day activities to help their communities! Here are some of the ways that we are helping to make the world a better place.

Barton employees, "The Litter Getters," worked hard with some roadside pickup, filling eight contractor-size garbage bags with trash.

Georgeanne Hall from our South Glens Falls location taught first graders about recycling, and led a tickle plant potting activity with fourth grade students.

At the North American headquarters in Philadelphia, employees were reminded of ways that they can do their part year-round and commit to good recycling practices. The Cira Centre also hosted an event to show the tenants the Environmentally Friendly Cleaning practices of the building.

Our vision includes a world with zero emissions. While we have made great progress in improving energy efficiency at our global operations, we can’t get there alone. It’s important that we work together both internally and with other energy efficiency leaders to identify new opportunities for improvement and realize our goals.
