October 1 marks the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness month, and Cook for the Cure®, a partnership between KitchenAid and Susan G. Komen®, is offering a number of ways for cooks and foodies to help support the fight against breast cancer.

MGM National Harbor Helps Prince George’s County Students and Teachers Gear Up for “Back-to-School” Season

MGM National Harbor, the world-class destination casino resort under construction in Prince George’s County, Md., kicked off “back-to-school” season by donating time and resources to local elementary and middle schools. As part of its ongoing commitment to community engagement and investment, MGM National Harbor participated in several events around the County to provide students, their families and their schools with much-needed funds and supplies.

Every year the month of September is dedicated to celebrating the importance of eating breakfast as a part of a healthy balanced diet and active lifestyle. The power of breakfast is often underestimated. The food we choose affects our energy level, our ability to focus and our power to think clearly. This has been proven with students in the classroom and with athletes on the field—it stands to reason that it makes a difference in the workplace as well.

MGM Resorts International Employees Raise More Than $5 Million for the Foundation

MGM Resorts employees raised over $5 million in 2014. As a result, the MGM Resorts Foundation was able to impact 251,980 individuals and families through grants for food, housing and self-sufficiency programs in that same time period. Employees raised the funds through a variety of activities, including an annual giving campaign; individual fundraising events, and an employee talent show.

"10,000 Adventures" Initiative Promotes a Love of Reading with Gift of Books to Children at MetroWest YMCA

A unique collaboration between the nonprofit First Book and Middlesex Savings Bank will provide brand-new books to children enrolled in the MetroWest YMCA’s Schools Out program during the “10,000 Adventures” launch and reading celebration on October 1, 2015.

Novartis Launches ‘Novartis Access’, a Portfolio of Affordable Medicines to Treat Chronic Diseases in Lower-income Countries

Novartis today announced the launch of Novartis Access, a portfolio of 15 medicines to treat chronic diseases in low- and low-middle-income countries. The portfolio addresses cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, respiratory illnesses, and breast cancer and will be offered to governments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other public-sector healthcare providers for USD 1 per treatment, per month.

Whirlpool Foundation Supports Education with Employee Sons and Daughters Scholarships

Every year, some 78 million children, teens and young adults prepare for that annual pilgrimage of back-to-school activities. As an empty nester, this time of year is special to me as I join in that emotional ritual of anticipation and excitement for all that a new school year brings.

Fox's 'Peanuts Movie' Characters to Encourage Kids to Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF

As part of a new partnership between 20th Century Fox and UNICEF, the familiar characters from the upcoming Blue Sky Studios film The Peanuts Movie will help raise funds for the organization this fall. Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and more will appear in ads and resources for the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign, a national initiative encouraging kids to ask for donations to UNICEF as they go door-to-door on Halloween.
