I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Mary Elizabeth McCulloch and Elizabeth Nyeko, two socially minded young women who exemplify the mindset of a Global Problem Solver. They joined me on stage in San Jose at the Women of Impact conference, where we spoke to more than 16,000 global attendees on a day dedicated to the advancement of professional women.
I had the pleasure of discussing HP’s leading sustainability innovation and initiatives with public and private sector leaders at the Shell PPT Asia Forum. It brought together over 150 leaders, young talents and representatives from the public and private sectors. We discussed and debated how to deliver “Energy for Better Living” and tackle future energy challenges.
On March 7, Balaji Ganapathy, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Head of Workforce Effectiveness in North America, joined an esteemed panel of speakers in Washington D.C., at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and U.S. Department of State’s eighth International Women's Day Forum, Partner With Purpose: Business for Gender Equality.
The series brought together industry leaders, community partners, and expert panels to spark discussion of everything from equal pay and maternity leave for women in the hospitality and spirits industries to financial wellness and self-defense tactics.
The MSD for Mothers team recently returned from the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, where we joined leaders from business, government, civil society and academia in discussions around the theme, “Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World.” In keeping with the focus on the global economy, MSD for Mothers and our partners made the business case for investing in maternal health, argued for greater private sector involvement in innovative financing for development, and advocated for more research on the experiences of women and girls to guide more equitable decisions about allocating resources.
Last week, over 1,100 sustainability professionals from around the world gathered in Phoenix, Arizona for the tenth annual GreenBiz conference. The conference focused most notably on sustainable and resilient supply chains; how investors are stepping up their scrutiny of companies' environmental, social and governance (ESG) data; what it takes to create circular products and business models; and the energy procurement landscape.
This year, I had the opportunity to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, which brought together over 3,000 leaders from business, government, international organizations, civil society, academia, media and the arts. I’ve attended the gathering in the past, and can say that this meeting was my favorite experience for a few reasons.
Talent, HR, and leadership are all being disrupted by the need to give each individual in the workforce the autonomy and energy to succeed. This shift is forcing fundamental change in the workplace — making Bersin’s IMPACT 2018 conference, “The rise of the individual in the future of work,” an essential industry event for senior HR executives and their teams. A highlight of IMPACT 2018, April 3-6 at the Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Florida, will be the exclusive global launch of Deloitte’s sixth annual Global Human Capital Trends research.
This forum brings together more than 400 business leaders, governments, academia, trade unions and civil society, from 25 countries, to share best practices for reducing gender gaps in the workplace and to highlight the role of the business sector as a key player in advancing gender equality and building inclusive work environments for the achievement of the 2030 Agenda.
The annual Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance (REBA) Summit will return to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2018 — hosted in Oakland, October 14-16, ahead of GreenBiz Group’s VERGE 18 conference and expo. REBA is a coalition of leadership organizations with deep expertise in transforming energy markets: BSR’s Future of Internet Power, Rocky Mountain Institute’s Business Renewables Center, World Resources Institute’s Electricity Initiative and World Wildlife Fund’s Renewable Energy Buyers’ Principles (also supported by World Resources Institute).
