Whalesafe Project on Board Costa Cruises' Ships to Raise the Awareness of Guests to the Conservation of Sperm Whales
The Whalesafe Project, co-funded by the European Union’s Life+ Program with the involvement of partners including the Università degli Studi di Genova (Department of Physics and Department of Earth Sciences, Environment and Life), Costa Edutainment, Genoa Maritime Directorate, Savona Harbor Master’s Office and Softeco who have joined forces for the conservation of the sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus), has come on board Costa Cruises’ ships.

Common Impact Showcases Corporate Innovation for Pro Bono Week
Common Impact, a nonprofit that pioneered corporate skills-based volunteering as a resource for strengthening local communities, showcased two new models of corporate pro bono service during Pro Bono Week (#PBW15, October 26th –30th). These models, led by Fortune 500 companies Charles Schwab and Marriott help answer two critical questions that have arisen for companies as skills-based volunteering has gained popularity in recent years: How do you truly integrate pro bono service into your company’s culture and how do you bring it to scale?

CSX employees gathered at Grandview Elementary School in Charleston, W.V. on Saturday to spend the morning volunteering to improve the school. They were joined by CSX’s national service partners City Year, Action for Healthy Kids and Arbor Day Foundation, along with volunteers from the community and school.

The “500 Island Project” between Caterpillar, Fluidic and Indonesia's PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), will provide electricity to more than 1.5 million people which we believe would be considered one of the most ambitious rural electrification projects in the world, and will help the Indonesian Government achieve its ambitious rural electrification targets faster than otherwise possible.

Holland America Line President Orlando Ashford presented a check for $25,000 to Seattle Children’s Hospital’s Uncompensated Care Fund Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at the Seattle Mariners’ “Fan Appreciation Night” home game at Safeco Field. The company made the donation as part of its partnership with the Seattle Mariners Major League Baseball team and the “K’s for Kids” program that originally debuted during the 2014 baseball season.
