LA Kings Team Up with Blue Shield of California to Launch G.O.A.L.S. Program for Children in Los Angeles
AEG’s LA Kings and Blue Shield of California teamed up with Grades of Green to celebrate the official launch of G.O.A.L.S, a digital platform that helps equip children in Los Angeles with resources to be eco-friendly, inclusive, healthy, socially responsible and knowledgeable, yesterday at St. Anthony Parish School in Long Beach, Calif.

Students at St. Anthony spent the morning reviewing how to properly sort waste before getting first access to the LA Kings and Blue Shield of California G.O.A.L.S platform and playing trash sorting hockey games with LA Kings forward Kyle Clifford as well as Bailey, the club’s mascot, and members of the LA Kings Ice Crew.

Trash to Treasure: Hawaii Company Uses Ocean Waste to Create Jewelry
Three years ago Kat Crabill took a drive that would forever change her life. She visited Kamilo Beach on the southeast coast of the island of Hawai’i, an area that collects a huge amount of trash due to the movement of currents. It was there, while watching plastic waste wash ashore, that Crabill thought about repurposing the large plastic pieces and nurdles, small nuggets of plastic, into true gems.
Planet Water Foundation Brings Water-Cleaning Technology to Puerto Rico
Planet Water Foundation, an organization focused on bringing clean water to impoverished communities, has announced plans to help Puerto Ricans in the wake of Hurricane Maria. The natural disaster has devastated the country, with consequences on drinkable water supplies.

The project is partially funded by Xylem, a global water technology company. Xylem has previously supported Planet Water with funding, besides employee and supplier volunteer hours, in more than 250 communities in the Asia-Pacific region.
Over 7,800 Hours Volunteered by Xylem Employees During Global Month of Service
To commemorate its anniversary in October, Xylem, a leading global water technology company dedicated to solving the world’s most challenging water issues, held its second annual Global Month of Service. Embracing the goals of Xylem’s corporate citizenship program, Xylem Watermark, employees around the world came together to provide and protect safe water resources for communities in need and to educate people about water issues. Throughout the month, Xylem employees volunteered more than 7,800 hours by participating in nearly 100 events in 28 countries.
