In 2013, we introduced our 2020 Legacy of Good Plan with ambitious sustainability and social goals to put our technology and expertise to work to do the most good for people and the planet. In June 2019 we delivered our final report on these goals, and are proud to announce that we have completed, or exceeded, over 75% of the goals ahead of schedule. These achievements demonstrate how we have scaled sustainability, empowered people and established technology as an accelerator for positive customer and societal outcomes for years to come.

Our 2020 Legacy of Good Plan has been a fantastic foundation, but we recognize there is more to do. As we look to 2030, we remain focused on understanding emerging societal challenges and how to innovate for impact — so today’s challenges don’t define the next generation. We are committed to using our reach, technology and people to create a positive, lasting impact on humankind and the planet.

On June 9, 2019, we published Progress Made Real – Our Vision for 2030, focused on three key areas: advancing sustainability, cultivating inclusion, and transforming lives with technology. Foundational to the vision is a commitment to upholding strong ethics and privacy. Over the coming year, we plan to release specific goals and will continue to demonstrate transparent reporting practices on key advancements related to this vision.

Education

Unlocking the Passion and Potential of the World’s Youth
Through our Youth Learning program, Dell is working with nonprofit partners worldwide to give underserved youth better access to technology and education. Going beyond access, we’re also creating a culture of inclusion, wherein science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning is seen as being for everyone — boys and girls, rich and poor. And we’re teaching youth of all backgrounds how to be persistent and work though challenging problems.

Check Out How Dell Is Transforming Their Electronic Waste Into Something Sustainable This 2020
Starting their Global TakeBack program in 2016, they have recycled over 21.5 million pounds of plastic as well as achieved 15% customer participation rate. This may seem particularly small as compared to the rate of 80% for recycling done by the automotive industry, but it is actually rather large in the technology industry.

Dell Accelerates Toward 2020 Legacy of Good Goals
Dell Inc. released its annual 2020 Legacy of Good update today, continuing the company’s long-term commitment to society, team members and the environment. The report summarizes efforts during fiscal year 2018 (Feb. 4, 2017 – Feb. 2, 2018). The report and corresponding activities are rooted in Dell’s acknowledgement of its responsibility to realize a sustainable and prosperous future.

Dell is proud of its inaugural inclusion on Fortune’s 2017 Change the World List, as Dell Technologies marks its One Year Anniversary and celebrates accomplishments in its Annual Report to Customers.

How Dell & Givewith Engaged Customers in the Fight Against Ocean Pollution
We collaborated with Givewith, a new social impact marketing platform. Givewith is bringing brands, consumers and nonprofit organizations together to tackle our most challenging social issues. Givewith Founder and CEO Paul Polizzotto has his own special relationship with water. Paul explains more about his company, his passion for the ocean and his work with Dell.
