In late August, a team of Republic Services of Sacramento employees and some of their family members competed in a contest called “Junk 2 Genius.” This is where teams in the competition are given a pile of garbage items, a theme, and two days to make a sculpture. Delia teaches eight-to-twelve year olds at the Hedwig-Bollhagen-Gymnasium Velten school in Kremmen, Germany. As well as biology and chemistry, she also is a physical education teacher and has 20 years' experience as an educator. Delia participated in Amgen Teach in 2015 and has taken full advantage of the training to help her apply inquiry-based practices in the classroom.

Catastrophic flooding has left much of Louisiana under a boil water advisory. Municipal water supplies across the affected region have been damaged by flood water, debris and lightning strikes. Kohler Co., a global leader in the plumbing industry, has donated 480 KOHLER Clarity water filters to flood victims through Operation Blessing International, a humanitarian organization which provides disaster relief, medical aid, clean water and community development.

Sodexo, world leader in quality of life services, recognized its dining sustainability team at Gonzaga University for celebrating the one-year anniversary of the John J.
