But now, thanks to a project involving thousands of smallholder farmers, apparel brands like Timberland, and a blockchain network, it could be set for a comeback. Within a few years, if all goes to plan, the island will be supplying millions of pounds of organic cotton for shoes, shirts, and other clothing sold in U.S. stores.

The beneficiaries paired up with Team Members who provided guidance as they shopped for the groceries at the Giant Hypermarket at Tampines.
Pooja Naidu will never forget the moment, in the spring of 2015, when she first stepped foot in Maruthi Orphanage, a home for girls in Hyderabad, India. “How difficult it is for them to survive a life without their parents,” she thought, overcome with compassion for the orphans, semi-orphans, and abandoned and needy children living there.
