On World Water Day, The Weather Channel's Kait Parker chatted with Jim King, President of The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation about the issue of harmful algae blooms in waterways caused by an excess of phosphorus. Scotts Miracle-Gro is the presenting sponsor of The George Barley Water Prize, a four-stage global competition to find a solution to this global problem.

Holly Emerson, senior analyst, Center for Energy Efficacy and Sustainability at Ingersoll Rand, joined other North Carolina industry leaders in a “We Are Still In” regional panel discussion at the ClimateCon 2018, Business of Climate Forum. The discussion explored the importance of being “still in,” and how deep collaboration between stakeholders and the We Are Still In network helps everyone achieve their own climate goals through expertise and resources.

When most people think of South by Southwest (SXSW), they might picture the latest high-tech gadgets, or a popular band playing at a sold-out concert. For Pfizer Inc. and Rise Against Hunger, however, the annual music, film and technology festival in Austin, Texas, also served as something else: an opportunity to fight global hunger and support progress toward our shared goal of a more prosperous future.

In March 2018 30 professionals from across Tetra Tech attended their first session of Tetra Tech’s annual Leadership Academy in Arlington, Virginia. This year’s Leadership Academy includes future leaders from Tetra Tech’s operations in the United States, Canada, Australia, Brazil, and Chile.

Operational leaders from around the world nominate their top Tetra Tech employees for the Leadership Academy, with the final 30 participants selected by Tetra Tech CEO Dan Batrack. Participants work with top leaders from Tetra Tech’s global operations; interact with executive management; expand their knowledge of the company; and focus on operational, financial, and interpersonal skills.

Emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, blockchain, big data, advanced robotics and 3D printing will be catalysts for the 4thIndustrial Revolution.
