Bloomberg Hosts 5th Annual Young Women’s Leadership Summit

On Saturday, March 3, Bloomberg hosted its 5th annual Startup Young Women’s Leadership Summit, convening 500 high school and college-aged girls at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for a day of networking and mentoring. More than 200 employees in the Bloomberg Startup program joined together with students from 34 diverse partner organizations, including CUNY’s Macaulay Honor College, the Young Women’s Leadership Network, PENCIL, and our partner school University Heights High School, Girls Who Invest, the Ghetto Film School, and other high schools that participate in our FIRST Robotics programs.

I had the pleasure of discussing HP’s leading sustainability innovation and initiatives with public and private sector leaders at the Shell PPT Asia Forum. It brought together over 150 leaders, young talents and representatives from the public and private sectors. We discussed and debated how to deliver “Energy for Better Living” and tackle future energy challenges.

The George Barley Water Prize, a four-stage global competition of which The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation is lead sponsor, has achieved a major milestone. Ten scientist teams have advanced to Stage 3, having beaten out nearly 100 competitors in their bid to remove and repurpose excess phosphorus from surface water.
