College Coders Compete to Last Second at 2017 Global CodeCon Finals

Top college coders from around the world gathered on January 27th at Bloomberg’s offices in New York City and London for the Global CodeCon Finals. Competitors took their seats, hunched over their laptops and scanned the first of eight programming challenges that would test their coding skills, speed and strategic thinking.

Record Crowd at Science Expo Sees Curiosity Cube in World Debut

Hoping to engage more than 300,000 people in a nationwide tour, a German-based biotech Saturday unveiled its Curiosity Cube science lab at Petco Park in one of the nation’s largest science expos. Petco was the first stop on the 12-month tour of the cube, a hands-on lab housed in a 22-by-10-foot shipping container retrofitted by MilliporeSigma, the North American arm of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany.

CITGO Helps Bring Mobile Literacy Program Bess the Book Bus to Corpus Christi Area for National Reading Month School Visits

In celebration of National Reading Month, CITGO partnered with mobile literacy program Bess the Book Bus to give out free books to hundreds of Corpus Christi children this February. As part of the program's ongoing tour across the country, Bess the Book Bus and founder Jennifer Frances made three stops at Corpus Christi-area schools, and CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery employees were on hand to help give pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first-grade students one of their first tastes of the fun of reading.
