As one of Duke Energy’s Water Resources Fund recipients, the Greenville YMCA is working to improve access to the Reedy River with outdoor classrooms and science stations. Together, we’re creating better recreational and educational facilities for local families.

Duke Energy, Watershed Ecology Center Team Up to Bring Adopt-a-Stream to Spartanburg County

As one of Duke Energy’s Water Resources Fund recipients, Watershed Ecology Center developed the Adopt-a-Stream program for Spartanburg County, and is working with local volunteers and students who have become certified water quality monitors. Thanks to their efforts, Spartanburg County can now monitor and address water quality issues more quickly.

Bristol-Myers Squibb Opens New Child Development Center in Lawrence, N.J.

Most mornings Jodi Thrasher drops her two pre-school children off at the new, state-of-the-art, Bristol-Myers Squibb Child Development Center in the new campus on Princeton Pike in Lawrence Township, N.J., before reporting to work. Jodi is the Strategy and Operations Lead at the company and knowing her kids are safe, in an onsite learning environment, enables her to focus on her work – helping deliver life-saving and enhancing medicines to patients with serious diseases.

Curiosity Cube Brings Science to Andover Elementary School

MilliporeSigma employees volunteer to run the experiments in the cube and answer STEM questions, giving students the opportunity to talk with people who work in science about what they do. Eight volunteers attended the Bancroft Curiosity Cube visit.

LIXIL Americas CEO Steven Delarge Urges Support for Skilled Trade Careers at White House Meeting

Calling for increased support for apprenticeship programs in the building and construction industry, LIXIL Americas President and CEO Steven Delarge met with key federal officials on September 14, 2017 at the White House.

Organized by the American Supply Association (ASA) and Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC), Delarge joined other industry leaders at this meeting attended by representatives from the Department of Education and the Department of Labor. LIXIL Americas, the global business unit under which plumbing brands American Standard, DXV and GROHE operate, was joined with representatives from other ASA-member and PHCC-member firms, including Win Supply.

With over 2.2 million digital activists, we have more young people in the NAACP than any other young person’s civil rights organization in the country combined.

The Southern Poverty Law Center: Seeking Justice in 2017 and Beyond

For nearly five decades, the Southern Poverty Law Center has been fighting hate and seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of society. In the early 1970s, the fledgling nonprofit in Montgomery, Alabama, used newly passed civil rights laws to dismantle remnants of Jim Crow in the Deep South. In the ensuing years, the SPLC shut down some of the nation’s most violent white supremacist groups by winning crushing, multimillion-dollar jury verdicts on behalf of their victims.
