NRG closely monitors its environmental impacts. We emit CO2 when generating electricity at most of our facilities. The graphs presented below illustrate our U.S. scope 1 emissions of CO2e for 2014, 2015 and 2016. We anticipate reductions in our future emissions pro le as we modernize our fleet through repowering, improve generation efficiencies and explore methods to capture CO2.

Domtar’s pulp mills are, in essence, biorefineries designed to separate and extract the natural chemical building blocks of wood. Cellulose is used to make paper, but the other biochemicals from wood are also valuable as feedstocks for products ranging from fuels to flavors and fragrances.

As part of a re-evaluation of our sustainability strategy, in 2013, we engaged a third party to facilitate a formal assessment to determine these key issues. Our initial assessment identified 49 issues as important to stakeholders and the NRG business.
Twice a month, you'll find Aflac Regional Sales Coordinator David Watsonand his "Breakfast Crew" up before the sun, cooking a hot breakfast at the Family Emergency Shelter for homeless children and parents in Louisville, Kentucky.
