With that said, however, I spent some time over the holidays reflecting on the past year – as I imagine many of you did as well – and wanted to offer a few thoughts and celebrate a meaningful milestone.

For Timberland, the outdoors encompass backcountry trails as well as well-worn paths in city parks, community gardens and other urban green spaces where employees and consumers live, work, and explore. Today, 54% of the world’s population lives in urban areas, a proportion that is expected to increase to 66% by 2050.

In the chronicles of Great Britain’s energy industry, 2017 will go down as a significant year. At a time already characterized by change and uncertainty, two events stand out. One signals a break with the past; the other suggests the shape of things to come.
