Duke Energy is strengthening nonprofit capacity building efforts and supporting other strategic community initiatives by investing $849,000 in 23 organizations across North Carolina.

Since Fair Trade USA's launch in 1998, more than 1,250 companies have committed to a world-changing way of doing business through Fair Trade.

Wells Fargo announced today it will invest more than $1.6 billion in lending and philanthropy in Washington, D.C., as part of a new, five-year commitment.

This year, Alliance for Community Trees hosted a mentor exchange program for members through a grant from the U.S. Forest Service. The mentor exchange program paired smaller non-profit groups with larger groups and allowed them to learn by travelling to their location and doing a site visit.

Twenty-one Indiana nonprofit organizations are receiving $315,000 in Duke Energy Foundation grants to make a difference in their communities. Their projects range from a holiday food drive for the needy in Howard County to Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra concerts for elementary students from around the state.

School is a lot different today than it was two years ago at P.S. 171, Patrick Henry Preparatory Academy in Harlem, NY. In 2016, when teachers wanted students to use computers in class, they rolled in the computer cart. Students lined up, took the laptops from the cart and brought them back to their seats. At the end of class, students lined up again to put the laptops back in the cart so they could be rolled over to the next classroom.

We are thrilled to welcome Rachel Hutchisson, Vice President of Corporate Citizenship and Philanthropy at Blackbaud to Pro Bono Perspectives. In her day to day role, Rachel is responsible for global corporate social responsibility, leading the company’s 3,300 associates in efforts to serve and give professionally and personally. She is committed to the core philosophy that “good is for everyone,” championing positive change and inspiring individuals to integrate service into their development.

The Las Vegas community joins together on November 2 at the 2nd Annual Youth Homelessness Summit.

Results presented from the first year of operation of Guardians of the Coast, one of the biggest citizen science projects in Italy, promoted by the Costa Crociere Foundation. The initiative actively involved 156 secondary schools , over 600 teachers and 5,700 students during the 2017-2018 academic year. Each school "adopted" a section of the Italian coast, covering a total of 2,610 km , equal to one third of the country's natural coastline.
