Cox Enterprises Donates $50,000 to American Red Cross for South Georgia Tornado Victims

Cox Enterprises, in partnership with The James M. Cox Foundation, announced today a combined cash donation of $50,000 to the American Red Cross to assist the relief and recovery efforts of the communities affected by the recent tornadoes in South Georgia.

James M. Cox Foundation and Jim Kennedy Donate $2.5 Million to Build Fitness Center for Emory St. Joseph’s Staff

The James M. Cox Foundation and Jim Kennedy made a combined $2.5 million gift for the construction of the James C. Kennedy Fitness Center at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital. The hospital’s physicians, nurses and staff will have complimentary, 24-7 access to the state-of-the-art fitness facility.

The 5,400 square foot Kennedy Fitness Center is being constructed on the St. Joseph’s campus to provide convenient access for all hospital staff members. The Center will include cardio and strength machines, a yoga/mindfulness area and other programs that promote healthy living for the 3,000 employees of St. Joseph’s and its neighboring medical facilities. The fitness center is expected to be operational by summer 2017.

Detroit Workforce System Leadership Development Academy Inaugural Class Announced

JPMorgan Chase & Co., in partnership with Corporation for a Skilled Workforce (CSW) and The Aspen Institute, today announced the selection of twenty-two participants for the first ever Detroit Workforce System Leadership Development Academy (Academy).

The Academy will leverage and build on the expertise of leaders across the workforce ecosystem through an intensive twelve month learning program, led by local Detroit leaders and guest faculty from across the nation, providing the group with an opportunity to collaborate on developing practical solutions to solve some of the city’s most challenging workforce issues.

UNIDO and Partners to Create More Than 6,000 Jobs for Young People in Tunisia

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the Italian Development Cooperation and the HP Foundation today launched the second phase of UNIDO’s youth employment project. “Mashrou3i” (“My project” in Arabic) aims to create more than 6,000 jobs for young people in Tunisia over the next five years.

Five More Years of Hope and Hard Work for HP Foundation’s Participation in “Mashrou3i”

In Tunisia, where some 40 percent of youth are unemployed and jobs of any kind are hard to come by, the HP Foundation is working to make a difference. For the past three years, the foundation has been working with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), USAID, the Italian Development Cooperation and other partners on a job-creation project, called “Mashrou3i,” (which in Arabic means, "my project") that fosters a spirit of entrepreneurialism and offers tools that can support fledgling business owners.
