This week is National Inclusion Week, it is a chance to reflect on what inclusion really means, celebrate inclusion, and commit to building a more inclusive culture.
Paterson, New Jersey is home to me. It’s where I grew up, where I went to high school and where I have driven home to from my job at AT&T every day for the past 13 years. I’m invested in this community and all of the people in it. That is why I care so deeply about what happens here and why I seek out opportunities to make it a better place for my family, my friends, my neighbors and myself.
In this year’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report, BNY Mellon Chairman and CEO, Gerald L. Hassell, reflects on how CSR has matured both at BNY Mellon and around the world since he arrived at The Bank of New York fresh out of college in 1973. We’ve excerpted part of his message below. BNY Mellon launched its new set of long-term Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals for 2016-2020 in its latest CSR Report, released today. The goals reflect the tremendous commitment BNY Mellon has made to further integrate CSR within its business and culture and lay out a plan for continued growth.
This April, Fashion Revolution, a non-profit organization, released their annual Fashion Transparency Index report. The Index ranks 40 of the most recognizable fashion brands based on their supply chain transparency and governance practices. The average score was 42%, with only three brands receiving a “top rating” of up to 77%. Companies with higher scores made their supply chain policies available to the public, and had auditing and reporting policies in place. A majority of companies receiving low scores merely had a code of conduct available on their websites.
