This week is National Inclusion Week, it is a chance to reflect on what inclusion really means, celebrate inclusion, and commit to building a more inclusive culture.
On Monday, we expressed our gratitude to some veteran Crewmembers and Customers with a special charter of our Vets in Blue aircraft for a day trip to our National World War II Museum in New Orleans Since last year, JetBlue has supported the museum by providing flights that enable WWII vets from across the country to fly in, experience the museum, and have their stories recorded and archived for future generations.
Today, The PwC Charitable Foundation, Inc. announced a new grant to support veterans with a $1 million commitment to the Four Block Foundation, non-profit organization helping veterans find meaningful careers through transition support, rehabilitation services, and professional development. This announcement coincides with PwC US naming a Veterans Advocacy and Recruiting Leader.
Today, Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) and UNCF (United Negro College Fund) rallied students from three of the nation’s leading Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) —Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College and Spelman College — for an interactive town hall event to promote positive images of African American youth. Five of South Florida’s brightest and most promising hospitality students are getting the opportunity to pursue their dream of launching a career in hospitality management with an $80,000 scholarship from Carnival Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Carnival Corporation.
The five-day event, Nov. 13-17, is “A Salute to the Troops” weekend and includes a “Wall of Gratitude” where hundreds of MGM Resorts employees will gather to welcome and thank the veterans as they parade through The Mirage Hotel & Casino upon their arrival. There will also be a special welcome dinner, and excursions in and around Las Vegas and Southern Nevada. Special stops include: Terry Fator: The VOICE of Entertainment at The Mirage, Cirque du Soleil’s “O” at Bellagio Resort & Casino and a concert by Gary Sinise and the LT. Dan Band. Skydiving and helicopter tours in the Las Vegas area are also part of the plans.
