When a flash-flood hit Sentani, Indonesia, on March 16, 2019, PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) was ready to help.

Within 24 hours, PTFI had mobilized resources to provide food, water, and critically needed rescue and medical services. Within 48 hours, the company had sent five emergency preparedness teams and two medical personnel to Sentani.

The award will be presented on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at a tree planting event on Verizon’s corporate campus in Southlake, Texas.

Bacardi and Mercy Corps Work Together to Aid Hurricane Recovery in Puerto Rico

More than a year after Hurricanes Maria and Irma hit the Caribbean, recovery efforts continue. As home to Casa BACARDÍ Visitor Center and the world’s largest premium rum distillery in the world, the recovery of Puerto Rico remains a priority for Bacardi. In 2018, the company provided a USD $1 million grant to Mercy Corps, a global humanitarian organization, to drive longer term rebuilding and recovery, providing support to small business owners and tourism recovery in Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and St. Martin.

The UPS Foundation Mobilizes Its Disaster Relief Network by Land, Sea and Air to Support Cyclone and Flooding Relief Efforts

The UPS Foundation is coordinating with United Nations partners to speed food and supplies to impacted communities in Mozambique and Malawi. In addition, efforts continue in collaboration with relief organizations to provide safe shelter, food and relief supplies to victims of the recent tornados and floods in the U.S. Midwest.

Walmart, Sam’s Club and the Walmart Foundation Announce a Commitment of $100,000 for Midwest Flood Relief

In response to the floods that have impacted midwestern states including Iowa and Nebraska, Walmart, Sam’s Club and the Walmart Foundation have committed to provide $100,000 in support through cash and product donations. The commitment includes $50,000 in product donations to organizations providing support to impacted areas, and cash commitments of $50,000 to the Red Cross and United Way, which are providing relief services to affected communities. As part of this commitment, Walmart is also working closely with local officials and government entities to help meet the needs of those affected.
