Ray C. Anderson Center for Sustainable Business Celebrates Fifth Anniversary

This year, the Ray C. Anderson Center for Sustainable Business at the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business celebrates its fifth anniversary. It launched in 2013 as the Center for Business Strategies for Sustainability with funding from the Ray C. Anderson Foundation and others, and in January 2015 the Ray C. Anderson Foundation made a $5 million commitment. It was then renamed for Ray C. Anderson.

JetBlue's Tenth Annual ‘Swing for Good' Golf Classic and Fundraising Campaign to Raise Much Needed Funds for Three Youth-Focused Non-Profits

JetBlue today launched its tenth annual Swing for Good Golf Classic and fundraising campaign at Bethpage State Golf Course in Bethpage, N.Y. Since its inception in 2008, JetBlue's Swing for Good initiative has raised more than $6.1 million for a variety of youth and education focused charitable organizations.

Under the JetBlue For Good umbrella, JetBlue’s platform for social impact and corporate responsibility, the Swing for Good campaign includes the JetBlue Bid For Good online auction which features one-of-a-kind opportunities and experiences. All proceeds will benefit non-profit recipients – Feeding Children Everywhere, Together We Rise, and The JetBlue Foundation.

American Standard Wins 2018 WaterSense Sustained Excellence Award

American Standard, part of LIXIL, has received a 2018 WaterSense Sustained Excellence Award in recognition of the brand’s years of award-winning efforts to develop and promote WaterSense-labeled products and encourage water conservation across the country. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) previously named American Standard WaterSense Partner of the Year in 2017 and 2012, and also honored the brand with a WaterSense Excellence in Innovation and Research Award in 2016.

The WaterSense program, sponsored by the EPA, supports product certification and encourages consumers to reduce water usage through water-saving products, services and simple changes in behavior.

Shire Employees Circle the Globe 60 Times As Part of the Virgin Pulse Global Challenge

This summer, over 3,300 Shire colleagues formed teams, set goals and encouraged each other to make healthy choices as part of Shire’s inaugural pilot of the Virgin Pulse Global Challenge. Over the course of the 100-day challenge, Shire colleagues walked over 1.5 million miles collectively, and individually averaged over 14,100 steps daily. That’s the equivalent of walking around the world more than 60 times and burning more than 154 million calories, the equivalent of over 600,000 slices of cake.

The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption today released its 12th annual 100 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces list recognizing organizations with the most robust adoption benefit programs.
