2016 was exciting for PANDORA. It was another record-breaking year, with 122 million pieces of jewellery crafted and revenue exceeding DKK 20 billion. We opened our 17th eSTORE, our 2000th concept store and welcomed more than 4,800 new colleagues to the PANDORA pride. It was also a year of building for the future, underlining our commitment to nurturing and safeguarding our environment, both within our company and in the world around us.The improvements we made in 2016 have left us well placed to push on towards our goal of becoming the world’s most loved jewellery brand.

As climate change accelerates, IBM is galvanizing the global science community with a massive infusion of computing resources, weather data, and cloud services to help researchers examine the effects of climate change, and explore strategies to mitigate its effects. IBM pledges to help direct the equivalent of up to $200 million for up to five climate-related projects judged to offer the greatest potential impact, and will then broadly share the experiments' results.

According to research by environmental scholar Andrew Hoffman published in 2011, nearly 40 percent of all articles casting doubt on climate change mentioned Gore. “He had become extremely provocative for many people, and that limited his voice,” Hoffman told me. “Now that he’s stepping back into it, we’ll see what happens.”

The 10K is hosted by Whole Planet Foundation, a nonprofit established by Whole Foods Market. The foundation pledges to give 100 percent of registration fees to “fund microcredit loans to lift entrepreneurs and their families out of poverty in 69 countries.” Many of the entrepreneurs are women in developing countries.
