Almost two dozen representatives from Ghanaian development agencies working in partnership with the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) in northern Ghana gathered in the city of Bolgatanga on 13 November 2018 for a training workshop on Social and Gender Dynamics and their Importance for Improving Resilience and Livelihoods.
The Government of Rwanda is setting out to increase national tree cover by 30% and to restore 2 million hectares of degraded land to fulfil its commitments to the national Vision 2020, Bonn Challenge and African Forest Landscape Restoration Initiative. Owing to the country’s limited land area, 85% of this restored tree cover will be through integration of more trees into farming systems, that is, agroforestry. This commitment, along with other land restoration and conservation initiatives already underway, will help Rwanda reach its ambitious targets, supported by a new project.

On Tues., Nov. 20 Roadrunner Food Bank will hold a special holiday mobile food pantry distribution to provide food to low-income families and their children right before the Thanksgiving. The distribution will take place at the Cesar Chavez Community Center located at 7505 Kathryn Ave SE starting at 3 pm. It is estimated that more than 400 families will be provided food to take home and receive help with additional services also such as: assistance applying for SNAP (food stamp) benefits, flu shots and other health screenings, Medicare and Medicaid registration, information about housing services, adult literacy help and other services assisting low-income and at-risk people in the community.
