The Arbor Day Foundation Recognizes Dr. Edward E. Louis, Jr. of Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium with J. Sterling Morton Award
The Arbor Day Foundation has announced today that Dr. Edward E. Louis, Jr. has been awarded the Foundation's J. Sterling Morton Award. This award recognizes an individual who has had a positive impact on the environment due to his or her lifelong commitment to tree planting and conservation. Dr. Louis will be honored with the award on May 24 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo, Scott Aquarium Conference Center.
Smithfield Foods Continues Support of James River Association Environmental Clean Up Efforts
Smithfield Foods, Inc., announced today a $10,000 donation to the James River Association to support efforts to restore and protect the future of Virginia’s largest river. To kick-off the continuation of the partnership, Smithfield employees contributed their time with James River Association staff to clean trash from Tyler Beach in Rushmere, Virginia. An important part of the James River watershed, more than 340 pounds of trash were removed from the river’s shores.
Exploring the First Track at the Reporting 3.0 Conference: "The Village"
To tap into the excitement of the 6th International Reporting 3.0 Conference, the next four releases will explain each of the four Conference tracks. First, let us examine The Village track, devoted to the primary Keynote Presenters and Panels. The Conference will convene 17/18 June 2019 in the ultra-modern Erasmus Pavilion at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
CR Magazine Announces 100 Best Corporate Citizens of 2019
Corporate Responsibility Magazine (CR Magazine) announced today its 20th annual 100 Best Corporate Citizens ranking, recognizing outstanding environmental, social and governance (ESG) transparency and performance amongst the 1,000 largest U.S. public companies. Owens Corning tops the ranking, followed by Intel, General Mills, Campbell Soup and HP Inc. Twenty-seven companies are new to the ranking in 2019 including Allstate, Delta Airlines and Mondelez International. Biggest gainers include Ball Corp., CBRE, Ford and Xylem, Inc.
