Domtar Supports Summer Education with Project Exploration Station
Domtar's Hawesville Mill and Owensboro Converting, in conjunction with Domtar's Sustainability Committee, made a financial donation to Project Exploration Station, a retired school bus that has been renovated into an educational center on wheels. The Foundation for Daviess County (Kentucky) Public Schools Board of Directors developed an exciting and unique educational platform for area students so that learning doesn't have to stop over the summer.

Conveying Sustainability at Hawesville: Using Technology to Reduce GHG Emissions and Improve Safety
Domtar’s Hawesville Mill has received national attention for its strong efforts in sustainability. The facility constructed a world-class chip conveyor that stretches from the Ohio River waterfront all the way to the mill’s gates. The technology moves wood chips from barges using the Mississippi River, Ohio River, and Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, all the way across a mile-long (1.6 km) chip conveyor to mill staging areas.

Domtar & SCA Restore Historic Waterfront in Plymouth, North Carolina
On June 11th, SCA teamed up with national supporter Domtar to refurbish a community boardwalk along the Roanoke River in Plymouth, North Carolina — helping to revitalize the waterfront and bring new visitors to this historic small town.
