Every year, some 78 million children, teens and young adults prepare for that annual pilgrimage of back-to-school activities. As an empty nester, this time of year is special to me as I join in that emotional ritual of anticipation and excitement for all that a new school year brings.

Republic Services of Southern Nevada Recycling Education

Republic Services of Southern Nevada was proud to present the City of Henderson Mayor Andy Hafen and City Council members with a check to support recycling education for Clark County School District - Henderson schools. The funds will support the development of the Desert Research Institute (DRI) Green Box Program providing recycling education tools, resources and curriculum to local schools.

Today, CITGO Petroleum Corporation memorializes the story of CITGO Lake Charles’ first responders’ efforts to rebuild their community in the aftermath of Hurricane Rita with a new book and accompanying documentary, entitled “In the Eye of the Forgotten Storm.” Joined by community leaders, employees and many others who were on the ground during the storm, CITGO is hosting a screening of the documentary and sharing copies of the book with employees as part of company efforts to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Rita. The book will be available for purchase at MT Publishing.

MGM Resorts International Employees Raise More Than $5 Million for the Foundation

MGM Resorts employees raised over $5 million in 2014. As a result, the MGM Resorts Foundation was able to impact 251,980 individuals and families through grants for food, housing and self-sufficiency programs in that same time period. Employees raised the funds through a variety of activities, including an annual giving campaign; individual fundraising events, and an employee talent show.
