IBM P-Tech model: Debt-free College Grads with Jobs

In June 2015, six students from the first P-TECH school in Brooklyn completed their program two years early — earning their high-school diplomas and college associate degrees in just four years. Five of the six were the first in their families to graduate college and all six were offered positions with IBM; three will continue their educations with scholarships at four-year colleges and universities.

Freeport-McMoRan’s Integrated Malaria Control Programs Reduce Disease Risk in Democratic Republic of Congo & Papua, Indonesia

Tenke Fungurume Mining, a Freeport-McMoRan company, implements an integrated malaria control program in the communities surrounding its operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to protect its workforce, as well as the community residing within the concession. This malaria control program is the first of its kind in the DRC. An indoor residual spraying program strives to reach all accessible households in the concession. In 2014 there was an 80 percent reduction in total workforce malaria incidence since the start of the program in 2008.
