Handbook Helps Texas Homeless Youth Understand Legal Rights

On March 2, 2017, The Texas Appleseed Board of Directors hosted a reception to honor Weatherford for the Company’s partnership in creating the Texas Homeless Youth Handbook. In a joint pro bono effort, Weatherford, Texas Appleseed and Baker & McKenzie partnered to create a guide to help homeless youth better understand their legal rights, responsibilities and resources.

The company is giving N$100,000 (US$7,400) as a platinum sponsor towards the newly-launched Harders Soccer Cup, named after a species of fish. The other two platinum sponsors are Standard Bank and Tafel Lager.

National Nonprofit Keep America Beautiful Joins Corporate Partners to Boost Recycling in Flint, Michigan, Schools

The Coca-Cola Company, Nestlé Waters North America, the PepsiCo Foundation and the Walmart Foundation today announced that they have partnered to fund an integrated recycling education and awareness initiative for the 10,000 school students affected by the Flint water crisis, led by national nonprofit Keep America Beautiful and its local Flint, Michigan, affiliate Keep Genesee County Beautiful (KGCB).

RecycleMania, the premier collegiate recycling competition managed by Keep America Beautiful, is back for the 17th time as college and university campuses across the country rally school spirit while competing to see who will claim the championship title in the fight to reduce, reuse, recycle and compost the most on campus. The 2017 RecycleMania competition launched on Sunday, Feb. 5, and will run for eight weeks, concluding on Saturday, April 1.

In honor of World Cancer Day, Feb. 4, Holland America Line is proud to announce that to date, the guests and employees of the company have raised more than $5 million for cancer support through "On Deck" programming that began in 2006. Currently the "On Deck" for a Cause program benefits six international cancer organizations located in the United States, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom.
