All children deserve loving, permanent homes. That is the motivation behind the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption’s celebration of National Adoption Month -- a nationwide campaign that focuses on foster care adoption.

Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAS), a global play and entertainment company, and generationOn, the youth division of Points of Light, today announced that ten outstanding youth were named Hasbro Community Action Heroes. The award recognizes young volunteers whose service achievements have demonstrated the qualities of a hero -- kindness, courage and leadership – to serve their communities.

Ideas that Matter winner McSweeney’s created an anthology of student work from each of 826 National’s seven chapters. 826 is a network of nonprofit organizations dedicated to inspiring students to cultivate their writing skills—encouraging them to share their voices, explore creativity and imagine a brighter future.

FOX Sports continued its longstanding support of the Women's Sports Foundation on October 19 when the network served as co-presenting sponsor of the 37th Annual Salute to Women in Sports, an event celebrating the country's top female athletes and their role in encouraging young women around the country to pursue their own athletic dreams. This was the third consecutive year that FOX Sports has sponsored this event. In addition, FOX Sports parent company 21st Century Fox announced a new partnership with the organization in September to celebrate the premiere of FOX's baseball drama Pitch, creating new opportunities for young female athletes to take their athletic achievements to new heights.

As part of CSX’s “Beyond Our Rails” initiative to give back to communities across its network, the company hosted a day of service at Funston Elementary School in Chicago on Saturday, Oct. 22. The school was one of a handful selected from across the country this year for a CSX Service Day.

Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation recently recognized Ian McKenna, also known as The Giving Gardener, age 12, from Austin, TX for driving awareness and being a catalyst for eliminating hunger in his community.

As a part of the company’s tour of volunteer service events across its network this fall, many CSX employees gave up their Saturday morning to volunteer at Cook-Wissahickon Elementary School in Philadelphia, Pa. They were joined by the company’s national service partners City Year and Action for Healthy Kids, along with teachers, students and families from the school.
