Skills-based volunteering is the fastest growing corporate volunteering program. More than 50% of companies offer programs that direct their employees’ talents towards solving the challenges facing their communities.

Voices for National Service, a diverse coalition of national service programs, state service commissions and individual champions, who work to ensure Americans of all ages have the opportunity to serve and volunteer in their community, will present Comcast NBCUniversal with the Corporate Service Award for its extraordinary and longstanding dedication to the national service movement, including its ongoing support of City Year, which enables AmeriCorps members to help put at-risk students on a path to success.

Each year, the importance of employee volunteering rises to the surface as an area of growing importance. But the anecdotal stories and real life case studies haven’t changed that much.

In honor of World Cancer Day tomorrow, Feb. 4, Holland America Line is proud to announce that to date cruise guests and employees of the company have raised more than $4.7 million for cancer support through “On Deck” programming. The current On Deck for a Cause program benefits six international cancer organizations located in the United States, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom.

During Pro Bono Week 2015, our team hosted a pop-up discussion with about 40 folks from both for-profit and nonprofit organizations in order to begin addressing what engaging ‘tech talent’ really means for the nonprofit sector.

Global Health Corporate Champions is making pro bono experiences more accessible and affordable for companies interested in exploring pro bono in a critical emerging market. PYXERA Global is fielding a multi-corporate, cross functional team of 10-12 professionals for a four-week assignment in Accra, Ghana in June, 2016, under the USAID Global Health Fellows Program II.

Rebuilding Together — a leading national nonprofit in safe and healthy housing that provides low-income homeowners with critical home repairs — will join together with its affiliate, Rebuilding Together San Francisco and more than fifteen NFL players from teams across the country, to lead its 21st annual Kickoff to Rebuild, a Super Bowl 50 sanctioned event. This year’s event, in partnership with Lowe’s, will take place on February 5 in the Bayview neighborhood and will be the culmination of a series of projects across the Bay Area by five Rebuilding Together affiliates.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, surprise that special someone with fresh flowers from your local Safeway, Vons, or Albertsons store. In addition to traditional roses, we also offer a variety of popular mixed flower bouquets as well as fresh cut tulips and lilies. Potted orchids are also very popular for Valentine’s Day and have a longer lifespan than cut flowers. Many of these flowers are grown in California and other regions throughout the U.S.
