Channel 2 WSB-TV and The Trust for Public Land today named Stephen Causby as Atlanta’s 2017 Cox Conserves Hero. Park Pride, Causby’s nonprofit beneficiary, will receive $10,000. Causby was among the three finalists who were nominated by the public then chosen by local judging panels to compete in an online vote for the title of Atlanta’s Cox Conserves Hero.

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) recognized Sappi North America with the 2017 AF&PA Leadership in Sustainability Award for Safety for their Over Two Million Hours Worked Without Lost Time Injury project. This is the second year in a row AF&PA has honored Sappi for its sustainability advancements.

WFTV Channel 9, and The Trust for Public Land are recognizing volunteers who are creating, preserving or enhancing shared outdoor spaces. Finalists for Orlando’s Cox Conserves Heroes program were announced today, and the public is being asked to vote for the winner now through November 20. To vote, visit CoxConservesHeroes.com and select the Orlando area. A total of $20,000 will be donated to local environmental nonprofits on behalf of the three finalists.

LIXIL Group Corporation, a global leader in the housing and buildings industry, announced that for the first time it has earned a place in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for its sustainability performance. LIXIL Group was included in the DJSI Asia-Pacific Index as the highest scoring company in the Building Products Industry, and ranked third globally in this industry group.

For the third year in a row, Whirlpool Corporation's Integrated Supply Chain organization has received the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) SmartWay® Excellence Award. The SmartWay Excellence Award represents the EPA's highest recognition for demonstrated leadership in freight supply-chain energy and environmental performance.

The Carlsberg Group has been awarded for the communication and integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) in its 2016 Sustainability Report, at the Danish CSR Rapporteringsprisen 2017.

The judging panel praised the clear connection between Carlsberg's sustainability programme and selected SDG’s for which it can effectively contribute towards, alongside the steps that will be taken to impact them.

District 2 Councilmember Kwanza Hall presented a proclamation at the Oct. 16 city council meeting in honor of Cox Conserves. Launched in 2007 by Chairman Jim Kennedy, Cox Conserves is Cox Enterprises’ national sustainability program. It focuses on reducing waste, energy consumption and conserving water while encouraging employees and their families to engage in eco-friendly practices.

Ecolab Inc., a global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services, was named to the Water A List by CDP, the nonprofit global environmental disclosure platform. The A List is comprised of 73 global companies that were recognized for their efforts to manage water more sustainably. Ecolab is among 10 percent of companies participating in CDP’s water program to be named to the Water A List.
