Since the 1970s, Keep America Beautiful Month in April has celebrated the work led by our 620 state and community-based affiliates, local partners, businesses, public officials and millions of passionate volunteers to advance our fight to End Littering, Improve Recycling and Beautify America’s Communities.

In 7th and 8th grade, Natalie Hampton faced a terrible bullying experience. Every day, she ate lunch by herself and dealt with the pain and isolation that comes from being the outsider. She decided she wanted to give bullied kids an ally – not just in her Sherman Oakes, California, school, but in schools around the country.

The students currently participate in the Carnival Scholarship & Mentoring Program, an innovative workplace program sponsored by Carnival and the Miami HEAT, in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami that pairs a student with an employee mentor from Carnival. Prior to entering high school and participating in the Carnival Scholarship & Mentoring Program, the students attended the HEAT Academy, an after-school enrichment program for at-risk youth.

Oklahoma City's Martin Nature Park recently received a facelift as city, state, nonprofit and private industry teamed up to celebrate the Great American Cleanup, during Oklahoma’s Arbor Week.

People start pollution. People can STILL stop it. With Keep America Beautiful Month coming up in April, all Americans can #DoBeautifulThings by participating in the Great American Cleanup, the nation’s largest community improvement program.

Points of Light is partnering with Good Deeds Day, April 2, 2017, to mobilize volunteers around the world and increase involvement from U.S. volunteer organizations through the HandsOn Network. Now in its 11th year, Good Deeds Day is a global day of service that unites more than 1.5 million people from 93 countries to do good deeds for the benefit of others and the planet. Through this partnership, Points of Light seeks to reach and inspire more individuals in communities across the United States and around the world, and to build more cohesive action and alignment across its global network.

The Consumers Energy Foundation announced today that it has contributed $150,000 to support free tax preparation services and Michigan’s 2-1-1 network– resources that help families and individuals statewide as they receive their final heating bills from this winter.

Members of the Maryland Housing and Community Development Neighborhood Revitalization team joined Deputy Secretary Tony Reed and Keep America Beautiful's Senior Vice President/Recycling Brenda Pulley in Baltimore's Waverly neighborhood on March 20 for the launch of Keep Maryland Beautiful, coinciding with the launch of Keep America Beautiful's Great American Cleanup.
