Last August, Walmart leaders joined the mayor of New Orleans and many others to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina – a devastating event that affected the entire U.S. Gulf Coast, including hundreds of thousands of Walmart customers and associates. We remembered the heroes and the victims, sponsored a citywide day of service and led a disaster resilience symposium with the United Nations RISE (Research Initiative for Social Equity) initiative.

TOMS has given more than 60 million shoes to children in need, but as a consumer buying a pair of TOMS shoes, it can be hard to feel the real impact of each purchase. To solve for that, TOMS enlisted the help of AT&T to create "A Walk in Their Shoes," a story of a TOMS customer who travels from California to Colombia to meet the child who benefited from his purchase.

The energy it takes to make MARS® bars, WHISKAS® cat food, EXTRA® gum and UNCLE BEN’S® rice in the U.K. is now provided by a new wind farm in Moy, Scotland. Through a partnership with Eneco U.K., the 20-turbine wind farm, located just south of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands, will generate electricity equivalent to what powers all 12 Mars U.K. sites solely with renewable energy.

The port of Hamburg will be celebrating a premiere relating to LNG supply this Saturday. On May 14, AIDAprima and AIDAsol will be the first two AIDA ships to be simultaneously supplied with and/or powered with energy produced from LNG (liquefied natural gas) while berthed in the port of Hamburg.

Canada has been taking strides towards amending their chemical management plan in the past ten years. The most recent phase of chemical management is set to take place in June. Here is a chronological outline of their chemical management plan through this upcoming June.

The European Union does not currently have a law regarding conflict minerals trade transparency. This is an issue that definitely needs a response from the European Union and has been facing complex issues within the past few years.
