(March 30, 2017) — Today, Points of Light released a new report, “What’s Working: Effective Employee Volunteering in Asia, A Framework for Corporate Volunteer Leaders.” This report features a framework to equip corporate volunteer leaders to build effective employee volunteer programs in Asia, and examples of what’s working for global and regional brands.

Points of Light is partnering with Good Deeds Day, April 2, 2017, to mobilize volunteers around the world and increase involvement from U.S. volunteer organizations through the HandsOn Network. Now in its 11th year, Good Deeds Day is a global day of service that unites more than 1.5 million people from 93 countries to do good deeds for the benefit of others and the planet. Through this partnership, Points of Light seeks to reach and inspire more individuals in communities across the United States and around the world, and to build more cohesive action and alignment across its global network.

This year, Sands Bethlehem embarked on a Prom Dress Drive, a new initiative to recycle prom dresses, allocating them to those less fortunate in the area.

ATLANTA, March 28, 2017 – The Points of Light Civic Accelerator, with founding partners the PwC Charitable Foundation Inc. and Starbucks Foundation, and CapitalOne Investing for Good, Vodafone Americas Foundation, U.S. Small Business Administration, Dentons, Singing for Change, and hotel sponsor Hilton Worldwide, kicks off the Spring 2017 accelerator program with ventures working to increase economic mobility across the country.

More than 150 daughters of FCA US employees converged on the Company’s Auburn Hills, Michigan, headquarters on March 28 to participate in a half-day program designed to help young women discover their strengths, interests and to prepare them to pursue a range of possible career paths.

Children and young people who need to talk to somebody about difficult experiences now have somewhere else to go – a brand new app, developed by the counselling service Childline in partnership with Barclays.
