Last year 3.2 million people visited Grand Teton National Park. They left behind over 1,800 tons of trash. “Most of the people who come and visit the park aren’t necessarily thinking about what happens to their waste after they throw it in the trash bin,” park spokesman Andrew White said.

The national nonprofit Living Lands & Waters began its MillionTrees Project in 2007 by collecting and planting acorns.
