Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE:WFC), NeighborWorks® America and its local network member, NeighborWorks HomeOwnership Center Sacramento Region, today announced an additional $6 million donation by Wells Fargo to boost homeownership through the NeighborhoodLIFT® program for Sacramento County and the city of West Sacramento. This effort to create approximately 225 local homeowners follows the success of the 2012 NeighborhoodLIFT program for Sacramento that included a $7 million philanthropic investment by Wells Fargo and created 329 homeowners.

General Mills is committed to ensuring our hometown communities are food secure by supporting vibrant community food systems. That’s why we partnered with Greater Twin Cities United Way to launch the Full Lives Program, which supports a healthy and equitable community food system by increasing food access in North Minneapolis. A $1 million philanthropic grant from the General Mills Foundation enabled 14 projects across 11 organizations to increase the strength of the North Minneapolis community food system as a whole.

Duke Energy announced today it is awarding $3.2 million in grants to support 131 innovative K-12 education programs across the communities served by the company.

Twelve organizations spanning 43 counties in North Carolina and South Carolina will receive $940,000 in new grants from Duke Energy’s Water Resources Fund to support environmental and wildlife programs.

CASE Construction Equipment, a brand of CNH Industrial, has awarded the $25,000 Dire States Equipment Grant to Chapin, South Carolina for the East Chapin Sewer Force Main Project. The project will install a new parallel force main to relieve pressures in the service area on the existing sewer force main and pump stations. The additional force main will provide capacity to reroute sewer flow to significantly reduce the likelihood of future overflows that may affect the drinking water of approximately 130,000 drinking water customers in area.

The Smithfield Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Smithfield Foods, Inc., announced today a $350,000 donation to FUSE Studios, a high-quality and results-driven educational program piloted through Northwestern University that aims to transform science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) learning in schools across America. Smithfield’s substantial contribution to FUSE is part of the company’s recently announced charitable grant program that aims to address the unique needs of Smithfield’s local communities. The company’s donation will support 20 new FUSE Studios in participating school districts throughout the Midwest and North Carolina beginning in Fall 2020.

Last year, Comcast NBCUniversal helped Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania create four makerspaces for our service centers in the Philadelphia area. Makerspaces provide 3D printers, materials and templates that enable staff and families to print solutions to every day challenges – making the world more accessible one switch, adaptive tool, or toy at a time!

One year following Hurricanes Maria and Irma, Puerto Rico is still rebuilding. In 2018, Bacardi provided a $1 million grant to Mercy Corps, a global humanitarian organization, to aid in long term recovery, providing support to small business owners and tourism restoration in the Caribbean.

The Consumers Energy Foundation celebrated Earth Day today by providing $500,000 for three projects that will make a significant impact on Michigan’s environment – protecting habitat for Michigan’s wildlife, planting 100,000 trees and preserving freshwater resources.
