Roslyn M. Brock, the youngest person to be elected to chair the National Board of Directors of the NAACP, will be a featured keynote speaker during the MGM Resorts Foundation’s 11th Annual Women’s Leadership Conference (WLC) August 7-8 at the MGM Grand Las Vegas Conference Center.

I had my first child, Izzy, on January 6 — one of the first babies born after Nestlé launched our new Parent Support Policy. When I was first pregnant, I didn’t know that the policy was coming yet — when I found out, I was so excited.

A 20-year Nestlé veteran, Shawn and his wife stepped back up to the parenting plate when one of their adult children faced unexpected issues days after giving birth. Utilizing Nestlé’s Parent Support Policy, Shawn took 10 weeks of paid family leave to care for his new grandson, Kaiden.

Northeast Waste Solutions (NeWSolutions) is a Tulsa-based solid waste collection and hauling company. The company was founded in June 2010 by stakeholders of Tulsa Refuse Inc., a company that held Tulsa's trash-hauling contract for 32 years. In 2012, the newly formed company was awarded the contract from the Tulsa Authority for the Recovery of Energy to be the service provider responsible for the City of Tulsa's residential refuse and recycling collection.

Recent studies have shown that residents in Florida may be more at risk from climate change than any other state in the United States. Miami-Dade County, in particular, has faced great challenges with flooding, impacting infrastructure and costing immeasurable damages to residents, businesses and government.

It is an exciting year for the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption as we celebrate our 25th anniversary on July 31. Since 1992, the Foundation has been committed to the vision of our founder, Dave Thomas: to ensure every child has a permanent and loving family. Our mission has never wavered. Each day we work to dramatically increase the number of adoptions from foster care. We believe that family is the birthright of every child and that every child is adoptable.

Driven in part by the rise of dual-career households, flexibility has never been more important. A 2015 survey conducted by Ernst & Young’s Global Generation Research found that 74 percent of respondents prioritize flexible work arrangements, including paid family leave. Employees are looking for, and even demanding, that work fits into daily life wherever possible and not the other way around.

Let’s talk about why sustainability needs to be boring.

It isn’t exactly TED Talk material to note that the world’s best companies must innovate. At Nestlé USA, innovation is our lifeblood. But it’s more than keeping up with the times or even with competitors. A company must keep up with its workforce, too.

System change is by far the most important sustainability issue in the corporate sector. Climate change and virtually every other major environmental and social issue only can be resolved through systemic changes at the sector and overarching system levels.
