Sands China Care Ambassadors Distribute 350 Food Hampers to Families in Need
More than 30 Sands China Care Ambassadors volunteered at Macau Holy House of Mercy’s Welfare Shop to distribute 350 food hampers to disadvantaged families days before Chinese New Year. Sands China Care Ambassadors has more than 1,600 volunteers from across all Sands China Ltd. properties, contributing close to 12,000 hours of voluntary community service in more than 50 activities in 2017.

Sands Cares Adopts Local Las Vegas Elementary School
On January 23, 2018, Sands Cares, the company’s corporate giving program, adopted its first school, Helen Herr Elementary School, in partnership with non-profits Spread The Word Nevada (STWN) and Green Our Planet in Las Vegas. The $50,000 donation will fund free books and literacy programs for more than 800 students through 2020.

Providing opportunities for Team Members and aspiring leaders at our Integrated Resorts is essential in nurturing their growth in hospitality at Las Vegas Sands. Sands China Ltd. recently honored 44 Team Member and about 200 local university student graduates from their training and development programs at a special ceremony.

Sands Cares, the corporate giving program of Las Vegas Sands, is the company’s manifested commitment to being a good corporate citizen, committed to its people, communities in which it operates and the planet. In each region, Sands Cares has Corporate Social Responsibility leads that manage the program and execute initiatives unique to each region.

Igniting Creativity and Teamwork at Marina Bay Sands
Introduced most recently at the OneMBS Champions team bonding session and OneMBS Achievers Award ceremony, IGNITE – which stands for Identify, Generate, Navigate, Initiate, Transform and Evaluate – is a flexible toolset specifically developed for continuous improvement at Marina Bay Sands. The program is set up to engage Team Members by equipping them with the mindset to believe that they can get better at their jobs by challenging the status quo, the skillset to harness creativity of other Team Members to effectively manage change within the workplace, and the toolset to identify root causes and create innovative solutions.

VIDEO | Marina Bay Sands Team Members Take Part in Groceries with Love
Marina Bay Sands Team Members volunteered to join 12 beneficiaries from Association for Persons with Special Needs (APSN) Centre for Adults to purchase much needed groceries for 60 financially vulnerable families for the holiday season. The beneficiaries paired up with Team Members who provided guidance as they shopped for the groceries at the Giant Hypermarket at Tampines.

Las Vegas Sands Hosts Teach for America Teachers & Alumni
The national non-profit Teach for America (TFA) consists of a corps of leaders who commit to teaching in low-income schools and work to increase their students’ opportunities in life to make a meaningful impact. As a community partner with Las Vegas’ local sector, Las Vegas Sands supports this organization to provide high-need schools with diverse leaders. During a welcome dinner at Lagasse’s Stadium at The Palazzo, Las Vegas Sands executives and TFA alumni were able to network, provide opportunities for mentorship, and discuss their experiences in the classroom and around the city with new teachers.

Sands Academy Elevate Certificates: Sonila Dhima
Shortly after transitioning from Assistant Pool Manager to Refreshment Center Manager at The Venetian and The Palazzo, Sonila Dhima was made aware of courses offered through Sands Academy. In conjunction with the Learning and Development courses offered to all Team Members, Sands Academy established the Elevate Series, a series of courses focused on providing tools for leaders to manage their Team Members and build relationships to ensure success within their departments.
