Consumers Energy released three endangered Blanding’s turtles back to a Saginaw area wetland on Thursday, Sept. 27. The rare turtles – two adults and a juvenile -- were rescued from a right-of-way where Consumers Energy was installing Phase 2 of the Saginaw Trail Pipeline and cared for by a herpetologist employed by the company.
Black & Veatch has been tasked by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) to implement an electronic system that enables the inventory and management of biological materials at Kruger National Park in South Africa. In partnership with the Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF), Black & Veatch will support the Office of the State Veterinarian in preventing and controlling animal diseases.

Flory, who spends most of her days with a blind screech owl named Marbles by her side, is a wildlife rehabilitation specialist at Tri County Wildlife Care (TCWC), a nonprofit wildlife rescue organization based at the Sierra Nevada Foothills in California. The babies she feeds are, of course, baby animals.
