Tetra Tech celebrated five years of achievements by the Feed the Future Uganda Agricultural Inputs (Ag Inputs) Activity, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), at the Activity’s Close-out Learning Event in Kampala, Uganda, in September 2017. The Activity worked to increase farmers’ use of high-quality agricultural inputs and decrease the prevalence of counterfeit inputs in Uganda.

Imagine a California just over a decade from now. It’s the year 2030 and more than 7 million electric cars are traversing along busy freeways and crowded streets. Most of your electricity is from solar and wind. The air you are breathing is now cleaner than it’s been in more than 10 years.
I hadn’t been to Haiti since June 2010, six months after the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that decimated much of the island. At that time, there were still many ruins of collapsed buildings, piles of rubble along the roadsides, and thousands of people living in makeshift tent camps. This August, I returned to Haiti and saw a very different country.
I have a vitriolic reaction to the word innovation. I’ve actively tried to scrub it from my vocabulary. I am also that painful colleague who raises an eyebrow when I hear the word—or even worse—forces the issue in discussion to really understand if we’re using the word correctly. There’s this expectation in the corporate world that innovation is the Holy Grail—the one and only path—but when you look at what actually happens in corporate land, innovation is scarce to be found.
To continue the business journey towards long-lasting change, we need to be flexible, we need to take diverse perspectives into account and – most importantly – we need to be adaptable.
