FOX Sports, National Geographic Channels Nominated for Cynopsis Social Good Awards

FOX Sports and the National Geographic Channels are among the nominees for the Second Annual Cynopsis Social Good Awards, which honor the entertainment industry's outstanding social responsibility initiatives. Nominees include FOX Sports Supports "We Are BGCA" spot, Nat Geo WILD's "Big Cat Week," and National Geographic Channel's "Warlords of Ivory" Explorer special.

National Geographic Channel and 21st Century Fox Announce Girls Education Initiative Tied to the Exclusive Broadcast Premiere of He Named Me Malala, Monday, Feb. 29

Today, the National Geographic Channel (@NatGeoChannel) and 21st Century Fox (@21CF), in partnership with the Malala Fund (@MalalaFund), announced they would launch a social initiative to raise awareness for girls’ right to education and safe schools for every child. Timed to the exclusive global broadcast television premiere of Academy Award® winner Davis Guggenheim’s feature documentary HE NAMED ME MALALA, the initiative will engage audiences through social platforms and drive a charitable donation to the Malala Fund of up to $50,000 from 21st Century Fox.

FOX's 'Grease: Live' Partners with DoSomething.org for Teens for Jeans Campaign

In an effort to help the more than one million young people in the United States who experience homelessness every year, the cast of FOX's hit musical special Grease: Live partnered with DoSomething.org for its annual Teens for Jeans campaign, encouraging youth to collect jeans for the homeless. FOX promoted the campaign across its social media platforms during the live broadcast on Sunday, January 31, and members of both the cast and the audience got involved, as well.

FOX Sports Supports Announces New Non-Profit Partnerships to be Represented in 2016 & 2017

FOX Sports Supports, the charitable branch of FOX Sports, proudly announces its 2016 initiatives, including its continued support of our U.S. military, along with two-year partnerships with National Alliance on Mental Illness and Positive Coaching Alliance, extending through the 2017 calendar year. During this time, FOX Sports focuses its charitable resources toward these two organizations in campaigns that span all FOX Sports assets and premier events, beginning with the NFL playoffs this weekend and including coverage of next season’s Super Bowl LI. The two organizations were selected by a vote of FOX Sports employees in December 2015.

Fox and Microsoft Announce Grand Prize Winners of 'Hacking Mars' STEM Design Contest

Microsoft has named Matt Marshall, Nis Bojin, and Dallas Kasaboski the winners of the Hacking Mars Design Challege, a unique online science and technology competition launched in September and developed exclusively around the Twentieth Century Fox film The Martian. Marshall's team created devices called Modular Sensors, which monitor radiation levels, temperature, atmospheric pressure, oxygen, and more in the Mars station that Mark Watney (Matt Damon) inhabits in the film. The team collected $25,000 in prize money and flew to Microsoft's headquarters in Seattle to experience the company's groundbreaking Hololens technology.

Hilary Swank Brings Second 'All-Star Dog Rescue Celebration' to FOX for Thanksgiving

For the second year in a row, FOX dedicated its primetime Thanksgiving Day broadcast to the All-Star Dog Rescue Celebration, a two-hour television special honoring select organizations and everyday citizens who are on the frontlines of the animal rescue movement. Top talent from the worlds of music, film, and television gathered to celebrate those who save, care for, and find loving homes for the more than eight million animals that enter shelters each year. Michael Levitt and two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank produced the special, which was hosted by actor and animal activist Kaley Cuoco.
