Las Vegas Sands’ global corporate giving program, Sands Cares, donated $100,000 to HELP of Southern Nevada’s Shannon West Homeless Youth Center to provide 1,807 nights of shelter for at-risk youth, and the opportunity to name five rooms on the first floor of the center after Sands Cares.
Meet Africa Exchange, a North Carolina-based nonprofit that has been building an international coalition to solve community issues in East Africa since 1997. Ten Head Start programs across the country will soon be growing something greater this spring thanks to a grant from The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation and National Head Start Association. AllianceBernstein, Curb Records and Warner Music Group also signed on to the chamber's letter, after previously speaking out individually on the bills. Joe Woolley, the chamber's CEO, said in an email that 20 small businesses have also endorsed the letter.
