Pooja Naidu will never forget the moment, in the spring of 2015, when she first stepped foot in Maruthi Orphanage, a home for girls in Hyderabad, India. “How difficult it is for them to survive a life without their parents,” she thought, overcome with compassion for the orphans, semi-orphans, and abandoned and needy children living there. Wanting to help, Naidu began volunteering — and has been a regular volunteer ever since.

Harnessing the Power of Wind

As one of the world’s largest companies, we know that how we source our energy is important. That’s why AT&T has been working across our company and the industry on renewable energy projects that deliver for both our business and the environment. This week, we announced our purchase of 520 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy, through 2 agreements with subsidiaries of NextEra Energy Resources. 220 MW of power will come from the Minco V Wind Farm located in Caddo County, Oklahoma. 300 MW will come from a wind farm in Webb and Duval Counties in Texas.

Smithfield Foods Supports The Faison Center

Smithfield Foods is proud to support the Faison Center with a grant for a driving simulator to teach driving skills in a safe environment to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The Faison Center and Clemson University are conducting research using the simulator to refine driver education programs. This project aligns with our focus on education and helping communities where our people live and work.

AEG’s LA Galaxy and LA Galaxy Foundation kicked off its “Galaxy Giving” initiative with a visit to the local Community Preparatory Academy in Carson, Calif. for a Playworks Beautification Project on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Throughout the day, LA Galaxy staff and LA Galaxy President Chris Klein worked to transform and improve the campus’ play space.
