Get Schooled national spokesperson and hip-hop mogul DJ Khaled today joined Viacom to announce Key to Social Change, an initiative that will empower high school and college students to make a positive impact in their communities through social media. Organized under the Major Keys campaign, which assists students in securing a college education, Key to Social Change launches April 2, 2018, and will award more than $20,000 in scholarships to select participants.
“Now more than ever, we must unite and use our voices to drive change,” said DJ Khaled. “Get Schooled and Viacom have become family to me and we’ll continue our work to help young people use their talent and leadership for good.”

After sparking a national anti-gun violence movement, the Stoneman Douglas student group #NeverAgain is preparing to once again push for stricter gun laws with a nationwide march, led by the newest generation of activist consumers: Gen Z. This Saturday, over 1 million people are expected to descend on Washington, D.C. for the March for Our Lives, advocating for changes to gun regulations and school safety, with “sibling marches” expected to take place across the country and world.
Leaders from some of the biggest businesses in the country gathered in LaGrange City Hall on Thursday to discuss the creation of what will be the biggest industrial park in the southeast in terms of size, employees and investment in the community. “There are a hundred manufacturers in Troup County that operate in this park, and we have more Fortune 500 companies operating here than anywhere in the U.S.”
Jessica Rodriquez first wanted to be a zoologist. Then, an engineer and later, a veterinarian. Now, she’s pretty sure she wants to be a landscape architect. Jessica isn’t an indecisive college sophomore. She’s 11 and a student at Collinswood Language Academy in Charlotte, N.C. Her mom, Monique, credits Project Scientist with Jessica’s wide-ranging career interests. “Project Scientist introduces girls to all these different careers,” said Monique Rodriquez. “It shows them they have options.”
