Aflac Tells the World How Much Good It Does

Aflac—the well-known insurance organization with the famous duck mascot—takes its corporate social responsibilities seriously. The organization recently passed the $110 million mark in support for childhood cancer treatment and research, and has appeared on Ethisphere’s “World’s Most Ethical Companies” list 11 years in a row. Yet a Reputation Institute report found that consumers weren’t aware of its good works. That revelation led to a multifaceted effort to raise awareness of Aflac’s CSR efforts. It also led to Aflac winning first place for “Campaign of the Year” in PR Daily’s 2017 Corporate Social Responsibility Awards.

An independent national survey has named Consumers Energy as a “Most Trusted Brand,” ranking it fourth in the nation among providers of electricity and natural gas among residential customers. “We are focused on delivering an exceptional customer experience to the 6.7 million Michigan residents who count on us for electricity and natural gas every day for their homes or businesses,” said Patti Poppe, Consumers Energy’s president and chief executive officer. “We feel honored that our customers are telling us we are doing well, and we will strive to do even better as we look to the future.”

Piedmont Natural Gas has been designated most trusted utility brand among residential customers, according to a new report based on surveys of customers of the nation's 129 largest utilities.
