The Biomimicry Institute has announced the top 10 nature-inspired startups to compete for the 2021 Ray of Hope Prize, a transformational program designed to help startups cross a critical threshold in scaling their sustainable solutions.
UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17 is about partnering to achieve solutions. The A List is comprised of 73 global companies that were recognized for their efforts to manage water more sustainably. Ecolab is among 10 percent of companies participating in CDP’s water program to be named to the Water A List.
Reliance Industries Ltd. and Bechtel developed a system to create the water Reliance needs to run the world’s biggest oil refinery, despite the plant’s location in India’s arid state of Gujarat. The plant also produces enough surplus water to support a 1,600-acre ring of trees and plants surrounding the facility, as well as Asia’s largest mango farm. Without a robust water sustainability infrastructure and system, these improvements and farm would not be possible.
Tetra Tech is joining the Value of Water Coalition and leaders from across the water industry for the Coalition’s third annual Imagine a Day Without Water event on October 12, 2017. The event supports the Coalition’s mission to raise “awareness about the importance of water and the often invisible water challenges threatening our country.”
To encourage better water management practices, Nalco Water, Ecolab’s global water management business, has created Water University, a hands-on training facility for Nalco Water clients and associates. The new Water University will be officially dedicated on Oct. 23 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Nalco Water’s Naperville campus.
