Giant Sinkhole Studied with Xylem Technology

In February 2014, a large sinkhole opened up beneath the National Corvette Museum and swallowed $1 million worth of classic cars. Researchers used Xylem’s EXO water-monitoring technology to study the sinkhole and ensure the surrounding buildings were safe.

Arrow Electronics’ Employees Volunteer with Denver-area Nonprofit Farm

Members of Arrow Electronics’ “Young Professionals” group recently volunteered with The GrowHaus, a Denver-area nonprofit indoor farm, community marketplace and educational center. The 25 Arrow volunteers helped to pack food bags that would be donated to local families in need, and they also washed, chopped and boxed pallets of lettuce, mushrooms, seasonal produce and eggs for distribution to local markets and stores.

AkzoNobel Reduces CO2 Emissions by 100,000 Tons Thanks to New Bio-steam Facility

Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs Henk Kamp, Eneco and Groningen Seaports today opened a facility which will supply steam from biomass to the chemical park at Delfzijl in the Netherlands – primarily for AkzoNobel’s Specialty Chemicals site.

Why did you choose to participate in the Institute for Corporate Social Responsibility and what year did you graduate?
The Institute for CSR was an incredible opportunity to learn from industry leaders – like Tim McClimon from American Express and Diane Melley from IBM – as well as network and learn from my peers in the field. I was part of the inaugural class (2014) and learned a great deal.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has announced their annual Top 10 States for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) list. The annual ranking highlights states throughout the United States that made significant strides in sustainable building design, construction and transformation over the past year. Nevada made the 2016 list with a total of 6,397,602 LEED-certified gross square footage.
